TeleHealth

We are able to provide GP consultations by phone to many of our patients. From 20 July 2020, it is a legislative requirement that GPs  working in general practice can only perform a telehealth or telephone service where they have an existing relationship with the patient.

Many issues can be managed over the phone, or when needed via video link on your smart phone.

After discussion with your GP a normal appointment at Seacombe Medical Centre will be organised by your doctor if needed.

Please book a telephone consultation online from this website, or ring 8296 0122.

Medicare will pay for the cost of a telephone consult until September 2020 for all vulnerable patients.

Vulnerable means a patient at risk of COVID-19, so a person who:

 is required to self-isolate or self-quarantine in accordance with guidance issued by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee in relation to COVID-19;

 is at least 70 years old;

 if the person identifies as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent—is at least 50 years old;

 is pregnant;

 is the parent of a child aged under 12 months;

 is being treated for a chronic health condition;

 is immune compromised;

 meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection.

Currently there is no gap payment (bulk billing) for these consults.

There are some consultations that will require you to visit our medical centre. Be reassured we will be here. We encourage you to drive in a private car if possible. Please call us from your car when you arrive and our receptionist will screen you and advise what steps to next take. This is to keep you as safe as possible by avoiding people congregating in the waiting room. We are also experimenting with car consults where appropriate.
